Open and Mates in Mind partnership

We’ve recently become a Mates in Mind supporter, as we recognise the importance of mental health and wellbeing in the workplace. We always put health and safety first and we make sure our sites are well equipped from a welfare perspective. Building on this, in the New Year we’re also going to be offering training to our teams so they starting talking and thinking about mental health and wellbeing at work.

Why a Mates in Mind supporter?

Mates in Mind is a registered UK charity that is addressing the stigma around poor mental health, promoting positive mental wellbeing across workplaces and creating awareness in different industry sectors, including construction.

Working in the construction industry is rewarding, but it’s not always easy – challenging and often stressful working environments, coupled with long hours can take their toll on our mental health.

We want to make sure that everyone working with us – from suppliers and sub-contractors to our employees – understands the importance of recognising the signs of mental illness and knows how where to get help.
